Position Description & Responsibilities

Compuware, the industry leading solution provider of Enterprise Mainframe Solutions, is recruiting for the right individual to support our contract matters in France, Belgium, and Iberia. Compuware is recognized by industry analysts to be the leader in providing not only mainframe solutions but also “ground breaking” ability to include end to end performance management capabilities. As Contract Manager, you will be a part of our European Finance & Contracts Team. Your primary responsibility will be supporting the Regional team, including sales and sales operations, on all contract matters for in France, Belgium, and Iberia. You are acting as a facilitator, business partner, and warrant that all company requirements are met.



  • Drafting, negotiating and managing commercial IT agreements, with an emphasis on software licensing, partner and channel agreements, government contracts, vendor agreements, service agreements, subcontracts, consulting agreements, RFQs, NDAs, and certifications, among other legal contracts in French, Spanish / Portuguese and English.
  • Regular communications with Regional business and finance teams to understand key commercial requirements and ensure that contract terms comply with management priorities and company legal, financial and business policies and procedures.
  • Insure that Revenue Recognition requirements are met to allow transactions compliance and therefore support the achievement of their objectives for the Sales team and the Company in general.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the Regional sales team via phone/e-mail to collate the details required for their current sales opportunity.
  • Assist the sales organization with the pricing, creation and/or review of contracts for all transactions involving maintenance and license fees.
  • Ensure contracts are prepared timely and accurately to meet tight sales deadlines.
  • Research existing customer licensing arrangements to determine both licensed use and previously paid maintenance.
  • Utilize an Excel based pricing tool in order to help arrive at a transaction’s price.
  • Gather all the necessary paperwork to request the delivery of software and allow booking a transaction in the financial system based on our revenue recognition policies.
  • Provide guidance to field salespeople on transaction guidelines and how their transactions can be structured to meet these guidelines.
  • Communicate with Sales and Management to report progress of transaction preparation.
  • Provide your own experience to help organizing the contracts and documentation into a global, multinational interactions environment.


Education / Experience:

The successful candidate needs to be self-starter, hands on, with high attention to detail and emphasis on written / communication skills in a precise, meaningful manner. You enjoy the challenge of spirited negotiations, and seeks to be part of the team.

  • Primary Education from French University with Master 2 in business/contract law or administration, or from Business School, or alternatively Education in Contract Administration or International Trading which led the candidate to build up experience in similar area
  • Knowledge of IT contract law and practices, of Principles of liability and protection of IPR in the territory, is a plus.
  • Understanding of Software Revenue Recognition key mechanisms.
  • Engagement with a sales organization.
  • Fluency in a major European business and contract language for French, Spanish, English is essential. Ability to write and propose contractual wording in these languages, and to interact with third parties in these languages both verbally and in written.
