Position Description & Responsibilities

 

 

Primary Roles/Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Assisting the sales force with pre-sales activity such as proposal preparation, systems demonstrations and presentations, product installations, pilot projects for proof of concept, and migration project support
  • Participate in pre and mid-evaluation reviews with Prospects and Sales Executives
  • Coordinating installations activity and providing support to customers during installation. Includes hands on user education, training and problem resolution
  • Assistance with defining and implementing customizations
  • Creating appropriate documentation for internal and external usage regarding SCM blueprints and deployments
  • Initial post installation first level support and assistance to customers on an ongoing basis, conducting customer education courses and seminars
  • Keeping management aware of potential areas for product, services and educational sales, being continually aware of new products and releases through regular updates with the Product Manager. Attending and presenting at User Groups and Trade Shows. Functioning as back-up for other product areas

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with an SCM, such as ISPW, Endevor or Changeman
  • A mainframe applications development background and so understanding and experience of the typical SCM processes
  • Sound working knowledge of Mainframe programming languages such as: Cobol and PL1 and Mainframe operating systems and environments including DB2 and CICS
  • Working knowledge of both JCL,  Rexx and ISPF Skels and Panels
  • Has experience or awareness of Compuware’s Topaz or adequate technical ability to rapidly learn
  • Technical understanding, with the ability to assist Sales Account Managers with detailed information on a specific product, or range of products
  • Ability to apply a broad range of consulting methodologies to complex customer situations
  • Requires a blend of technical, business, consultative and support skills
